Day Tour at Sonya's Garden - A Secret No More

[1/3 My Birthday Celebration: Tagaytay Edition]
As part of my birthday celebration, I told RJ The Boyfie that I want to visit Sonya’s Garden in Tagaytay. This is actually included in my line up of Places I Want To Visit in the South. Why? Because I love gardens, flowers, fresh air, I just love nature :) I am a fan of garden resorts so if you know one please tell me *wink*. Guess I am already a graduate of weekend partying with friends haha! True that, when you’re getting old, you just don’t want the loud and shambolic crowd. #Tanders

We immediately requested for reservation for their buffet breakfast. It was a very smooth transaction thru sms. In just an hour, our reservation was confirmed. No need for down payment.

April 17, 2016 (day after my birthday)

We hit the road around 6:30am. It’s quite late but I am confident we will still be able to hit the 8-10am schedule. BUT... we didn’t expect it to be this far. This must be truly a hidden gem. We are already in Cavite and we are starving! Yes, Sonya's Garden is in Cavite, it is just near the vicinity of Tagaytay City
.
After 2 hours on the road, finally, we reached the SECRET garden.

Hello Sonya’s Garden!

“oops! May kasal!” after seeing that signage.

Sonya’s Garden has a spacious parking lot. They have dedicated parking space for the bridal car and the groom’s car. After we parked, we head directly to their reception booth and told the staff about our reservation. She called someone and confirmed that we can go straight to the dining area, another staff assisted us.

We saw Ma’am Sonya having a chat with a couple. She greeted us “Good morning!” and we greeted her back. Such a warm welcome from the owner J How did I know that she is the owner? Well, it’s the face I saw on the blogs I’ve read and also, I remember Marian Rivera-Dantes posted a picture with Ma'am Sonya on her instagram account. Too bad, we weren’t able to take a photo with her. Maybe next time.

As we walked going to the dining area, my eyes are already filled with so much bliss and love with the view – blooms and greens. Very relaxing J We decided to eat first before taking photo ops.

Approaching dining area, it was a bit different than the ones I saw on the blogs. “Where is the long hall? Where are the white drapes?” Then I realized, they must have relocate the buffet area since there’s a wedding ongoing in the Morning Glory. They have actually 3 dining halls here, the Morning Glory, the Sunflower, and the Conservatory and we were on the latter. The Conservatory dining hall can accommodate smaller group while the Sunflower and Morning Glory are good venues for large group reception.

The Conservatory:

Though this one is the smallest, I still like it. There’s a mirror wall, cozy, and very open to fresh air. Hopefully by our next visit, we’ll be able to experience dining in Morning Glory or Sunflower.

Buffet area

Since we arrived past 8am, the food are almost half-emptied. But this is buffet so they’re gonna fill them up J As it nears 10 am, they are already packing up and starting to serve food per plate as per request.

No time to take food shots, sorry for that J The menu for their buffet breakfast are fried rice, Chicken and Pork Adobo, Mushroom and Cheese Omelet,  Daing na Bangus, Fruits, Breads with assorted jams, Hot chocolate, Coffee or Tea.

Sonya's Garden is known for this πŸ‘πŸ»

Now we’re full and ready to roam around Sonya’s Garden. Here are some of the flowers your eyes can feast on:

Your way to their B&Bs.

Why didn’t we stay overnight?

Because we only have this day to celebrate so we want to maximize it. I have another request and that is to take a dip in the cold water of Tagaytay and since Sonya's Garden doesn't have swimming pool, we head over to our next destination – Gratchi’s Getaway. This will be featured on a separate blog.
